Presidency Message

Our lives have great purpose, to both serve and to be the recipient of service. A kind word, a thoughtful smile, a touch of the hand, a warm embrace, these are a few of my favorite things, both to give and to receive.

But why? How could something so seemingly insignificant as a thoughtful smile or a touch of the hand bring such inner peace and joy?

Because . . . we feel loved.

When we left our heavenly home surrounded by incomprehensible love, and stepped into mortality, it was only our memory of that place so full of love that was covered, not our hearts. Our hearts could never forget.

Every time we give a bit of love to anyone, friend or stranger, that part of our memory that has been locked, remembers . . . the love we left behind and so desperately seek here on earth.

Great things happen in the lives of others when love is freely given and received. Methinks that when we are at our worst, it's because we have neglected our best attribute . . . the God-given ability to both give and receive love.

LOVE
by Theresa Sneed

I see it in my daughter's resplendent smile
Awakened by the warmth of muted sunshine
Ethereal upon her tiny face

I hear it in my young son's laugh
Deep dimples, twinkling blue eyes
Impish delight

I smell it from the passion of most moments
Early dew on soft grass
Buoyant breezes, unplanned muse
Eternal inmost elation
Delectable repose

I feel it in the depth of my heart
It holds no conditions, yet
Replete with sweet hope is this
Sensuous, ebullient essence

All my love,
Theresa Sneed
